I've been taking care of the folks, but have been seriously out of action because of blood pressure meds. (They've been trying to find the right one, and the 'experiment' style plays merry hell with your body.)
The 1994 XJ is knocking under load and at idle, so I'm pretty sure the engine is on it's way out. The heater core started to puke, and the front u-joints are shot. I haven't had the health to fix it myself, and am seriously considering scrapping it/selling it for cheap.
Sadie, my 1987 XJ, is also on the block. I enjoyed it for the winter, but started missing the old conveniences (PW, PL, cruise control, etc...) I had all sorts of plans for it, including swapping the cylinder head, electronics, gauges, etc... from the 1994 onto the 1987; but again, my health just isn't cooperating. I can't let it sit there, waiting for my ship to come in... So, it's up for sale as well.
I found a sweet little 1992 XJ Limited, with some body rust and a Renix-era block in it. (The body has 348 K on it, but the engine has around 180 K). It came with the rear full of parts, and everything works on it. It has ABS, and thus the dreaded Dana 35 rear axle; but the ABS works like a dream, and I'm of the opinion that it's too nice to cut up, or bang around on.
So, I'm still deeply into XJ's and MJ's, but haven't been up to doing all of the things I've wanted to do to them. I'm seriously considering just tweaking a Cherokee for on-road use, since I haven't been off-road in about three years...
There y'all are, all caught up!
